The Badlands
A strange landscape and Wal Drug Store.
I was a little disappointed because I planned to see the Minuteman Missile Sight. When I pulled up there the entrance was blocked off by cones, and cars were being turned away. They closed due to a Covid breakout. I felt like Covid was killing my trip. I headed over to The Badlands. This was a very interesting place. The landscape was odd to me. It looked hard like stone, but it will crumble in your hand. The park ranger said that if I came back in fifty years it will look completely different. I got lucky with the weather again, I was trailing the rain by about thirty minutes. So, the road was damp but not wet. It was a nice ride through the park, and I got my first National Park patch for my motorcycle jacket. The wildlife was everywhere. There was a bison rolling in the dirt on it back like I dog. I was laughing so much I forgot to grab my camera and get a picture of it. After leaving the park I headed to Wal Drug Store. I was seeing billboards about this place my whole-time riding through South Dakota. I'll just say it was a little overrated in my opinion. It is basically a giant indoor strip mall. I did get a souvenir for Okami but that was it. Next stop was the Black Hills.
